Robbinsville, NC

Robbinsville is located in Graham County North Carolina. The town has a population of about 700. Part of the motion picture Nell which featured Judie Foster was filmed in the town and surroundinfg area. Graham County is notibly know for a couple of roads that will ether make you love them or hate them. One of them is called the Tail of th Dragon which is 11 miles long and has 318 curves. The other is called the Cherohala Skyway the road winds up through the mountains and ends up in Tennessee. This road was under construction for 34 years and when it was completed in 1996 it was North Carolina's most expensive road costing $100,000,000. This road crosses through the Cherokee and Nantahala National Forests which earned it's name.

The Tail of the Dragon
A motorcycler's dream or knightmare. It's still a must see, you want find a strech of road like this anywhere. The road is 11 miles long and consists of 318 curves.


Lake Santeetlah
This lake is located just 6 miles north of Robbinsville. It is also surrounded by the Nantahala National Forrest and not many people living on the lake which makes Lake Santeetlah a hidden gem. The lake also has a wide variety of game fish including bream, walleye, crappie, lake trout,large and small mouth bass. A fisherman's dream.


Nantahala Whitewater Rafting
Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) guides 9 of the easts best rivers including the Chattooga River, Cheoah River, French Broad River, Nantahala River, Nolichucky River, Ocoee River, Gauley River, New River, and Pigeon River.  NOC was rated "#1 Vacation with a Splash" by Good Morning America and "One of the best Outfitters on Earth" by National Geographic Adventures.
