Blairsville, GA

Blairsville is a scenic wonderland of mountains, forests, lakes, streams, waterfalls, and wildlife. Known for the Blue Ridge Mountains beauty and its world-famous sorghum syrup. Located in Union County Georgia. It is one of the three northeast Georgian counties situated completely within the Chattahoochee National Forest.

An annual October event of arts and crafts.









Vogel State Park
Over 200 acres offering outdoor recreation including Lake Trahyta, Trahlyta Falls, cottages, tent sites, RV sites, trailers. Located approx. 10 miles south of downtown Blairsville on Hwy 19/129.









Desoto Falls
3 Tier Cascade, 80 feet total
0.7 mile hike one way

Directions:  From Turner's Corner, head north on Hwy 19/129 for approx. 4 miles. Make a left into the Desoto Falls Scenic Area and follow around to the campground area where the parking is.





Helton Creek Falls
2 Cascades-One 30 feet and the other 60 feet

Directions: From Turner's Corner, head North on Hwy 19/129 for approx. 9-1/2 miles just past Neel's Gap. Make a right onto Helton Creek Rd (FS 118) and proceed approx. 2 miles to the pull off area on the right.

Description:
The stage is set and if you listen you will hear the sounds of bagpipes, drums and sounds of Scotland come alive as the marching bands get the games underway. Be sure to visit the Clan tents, pitched along the Butternut Creek and pick out your favorite kilt. Visit the genealogy tent and find out if you might have a little Scottish in ya. You don’t want to miss seeing the competition of the cabor toss or who can run the kilted mile the fastest. Hungry? Visit one of the Scottish food vendors for a taste of Scotland. The Festival will feature an entire area designated exclusively for children’s events and activities with a fun as well as an educational twist. Children’s crafts and events make this festival fun for everyone in the family. On Friday, June 11th there is a Kilted Golf Classic and a Ceilidh (Scottish party) dinner.  All events are open to the public.
